Learn to play American Mahjong at Kimpton Marlowe Hotel in Cambridge! Introducing a three-week beginner series at Bambara Kitchen and Bar. Mahjong instructors Emily and Bev of The Canasta and Mahjong Connection will help you learn and improve your game while connecting with other players each week! Sip on a mahjong-themed cocktail, alcohol free options too, or order from our mahjong-inspired food menu, courtesy of Bambara Executive Chef Adam Resnick (food and drink purchased separately).

The three-week beginner series is perfect for brand-new players or anyone looking for a back-to-basics refresher. No prior experience is required—just bring your curiosity and get ready for a fun, social game! Or, join us for select classes as your schedule allows.

Come solo and meet other players or bring your group! A full mahjong set-up will be provided during class, including all mahjong sets, instructional handouts, laminated cheat sheets, and NMJL cards available to borrow during class. Parking is complimentary for class participants.
