Wedding couple embracing each other

TJ + Sean

LA VIE EST BELLE

Sweet melodies to celebrate a beautiful union

The couple met in a graduate program at Middlebury College. TJ sang as a part of the French school’s annual classical concert, and Sean found him before he could even make it to the after party. They’ve seldom been seen apart since. Since most of their extended family lives in the greater Boston area, the couple knew the Marlowe would be an ideal location. From the moment they entered our lobby, the signature scent, colors, warm welcome plus a meal at Bambara convinced them that the hotel and its staff would have their very best interests at heart. The grateful couple credits Kimpton Marlowe Hotel’s wedding specialist for helping them achieve the wedding of their dreams. They summarized, “We ate well, drank well, were merry, and felt the love.”

Memorable Details

The couple had their first look in Lechmere Park, followed by amazing pictures with the skyline in the background. Since the weather forecast called for thunderstorms, the ceremony took place in one of the beautiful ballrooms. They each wore a J. Crew suit--Sean a gray linen one, and TJ a seersucker.

“We received the same kind of hospitality from everyone at the hotel that we would give to guests in our home.”

The duo was impressed by the expertise and panache of their dedicated marlowe hotel wedding specialist—and feel very grateful for her guidance and talent.

As a reflection of the couple’s love of musical theater, they had playbills printed for their “very special” ceremony. TJ sang “Till There was You” from The Music Man as he walked down the aisle. Sean wore a floral crown and garland during the ceremony, while members of the family and wedding party wore corsages and boutonnières matching the floral color scheme. The couple ended the ceremony with a unity cocktail—a shandy—before spending a few quiet minutes together and then joining guests at the cocktail hour.

At the beginning of the reception, Sean sang Fleetwood Mac’s “Songbird” to TJ, “dabbing” during a brief piano interlude (a perfect anecdote to describe the couple, they say). To wrap things up, guests enjoyed late-night sliders and fries in the lobby bar. The happy newlyweds spent the night in the Marlowe’s 6th-floor wedding suite.
